It’s the final smoothie from our month long AK Smoothie Series and WOW I hope you’re ready for dessert.
Let’s just jump right into it: yes, I made you a key lime pie smoothie that tastes just like a slice of pie and yes, I added whipped cream and graham crackers on top. You know how I do.
It may or may not look like a boozy drink you should be sipping on the beach and I’m pretty into it. Although, there’s no booze in this smoothie, just creamy coconut milk, protein-packed yogurt, and even a sneaky boost of veggies you can feel good about.
This smoothie just so happens to be Rebecca’s favorite smoothie she’s ever made (her words!) so you know it’s gotta be good. Enjoy as-is or get a little fancy with your toppings for a wonderful breakfast, snack or easy dessert!

Ingredients in this key lime pie smoothie
This easy key lime pie smoothie recipe seriously tasted like a blended up slice of key lime pie but is packed with protein and even sneaky veggies! Here’s what you’ll need to make it:
- Banana: we’re using a frozen, super ripe banana to naturally sweeten this key lime pie smoothie. The banana helps ensure that the smoothie isn’t sour from the lime.
- Lime: you’ll need both lime juice and zest to get that true flavor. Feel free to use regular or key limes!
- Yogurt: add creaminess, protein and flavor with vanilla or coconut yogurt. Siggi’s makes an amazing key lime yogurt; it’s hard to find but would be so fabulous in this smoothie.
- Coconut milk: coconut milk adds even more creaminess plus a wonderful, tropical flavor. YUM. If you don’t have any coconut milk you can use any milk you’d like.
- Spinach: hello, sneaky boost of veggies! The spinach also gives the smoothie that nice green color. Feel free to add up to 2 cups of spinach if you’d like — you won’t even be able to taste it!
- Vanilla: a little vanilla extract brings all of the flavors together. Learn how to make your own here!
- Optional: if you feel like you need a little extra sweetener, feel free to add 1-2 teaspoons of maple syrup or honey.
Can I make it dairy free?
Sure! Simply use your favorite coconut based yogurt or vanilla dairy free yogurt.
Make it a party in a glass
I think it’s time to treat yourself — don’t you think? Add a little party to your glass with the following:
- Add crushed graham crackers to a small plate
- Use a lime wedge to wet the rim of your smoothie glass
- Dip the rim of the glass in the graham cracker crumbs, rolling from side to side until well coated (yes, just like a margarita!)
- Pour your smoothie into the glass, then top with whipped cream and shredded coconut. OH YES.
Add a boost of nutrition
This creamy key lime pie smoothie packs over 10g of protein and healthy fats from coconut milk and yogurt, but here are some other great nutritional boosters you can add:
- Flaxseed meal: this is one of my favorite ingredients to add to smoothies for a boost of fiber and minerals, and is especially great for nursing mamas as flaxseed can help increase milk supply. Usually, a tablespoon is plenty! Here’s a brand I love.
- Chia seeds: try adding in a tablespoon of chia seeds for a boost of healthy fats and fiber.
- Hemp seeds: feel free to throw in some hemp seeds for another boost of healthy fats, omegas and minerals.
- Avocado: add healthy fats and extra creaminess by adding ripe avocado. Usually 1/4 or 1/2 of an avocado will be sufficient and also help to keep you satisfied thanks to those healthy fats.
- Protein: Easily add more protein to this key lime pie smoothie by adding 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder (vanilla would be delicious!) I recommend Vital Protein collagen peptides or Four Sigmatic Plant-Based Protein Powder.
Make it ahead of time

125 Ridiculously Good For You, Sometimes Indulgent, and Absolutely Never Boring Recipes for Every Meal of the Day
Ingredients
- 1 large frozen ripe banana, sliced
- Zest from 1 small lime or key lime
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime or key lime juice
- ½ cup vanilla or coconut greek yogurt (use coconut based yogurt to keep it dairy free!)*
- ½ cup light coconut milk (or milk of choice)
- 1/2 cup fresh spinach**
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey to sweeten if necessary
- For serving:
- Extra lime wedge, for rimming glass
- Graham Cracker Crumbs
- Whipped cream
- Shredded Toasted Coconut
Instructions
- Start by prepping your glass: Add crushed graham crackers to a small plate. Use a lime wedge to wet the rim of the glass, then dip the rim of the glass in the graham cracker crumbs, rolling from side to side until well coated.
- Add all ingredients to a high powered blender: frozen banana, lime zest, lime juice, vanilla yogurt, milk, spinach and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth, adding more milk to thin, if necessary. Taste and add sweetener if you feel it needs it, but personally I find that if you use vanilla yogurt then it’s sweet enough! Pour into the prepared glass, top with whipped cream and a little shredded toasted coconut on top! Serves 1. Feel free to double the recipe to serve 2.

cant wait to make this soon for me i never had coconut key lime smoothie before perfect for hot days here Singapore love your recipes as always brightens up my day everyday after work
I cannot WAIT to make this 😍!
So delicious!! Super pregnant right now and trying to curb all my pie cravings and this was perfect! I didn’t have graham crackers and skipped the added sweetener but did sub with the Siggi’s key lime yogurt… so amazing. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
Oh yay!! I’m so happy you loved it, mama 🙂 And amazing, so glad you could find that flavor of siggi’s!!
So delicious and easy!
Yay!! Happy you loved it, Lauren!
I’ve made this a couple of times already with Chobani’s key lime greek yogurt and it’s a slice of heaven. I’m GF so graham crackers aren’t easy for me to come by but I substituted the graham crackers for homemade roasted almond butter and the nuttiness really rounded out that key lime pie feeling for me. I truly love this recipe and thanks for helping this sweet tooth live a healthier life. I really appreciate you sharing this recipe. 🙂
I’m SO happy you’re loving this recipe, Morgan! Almond butter’s such a great sub. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Another winner! Loved this one, so refreshing. I made it with plain yogurt and regular limes and it was delish!
This is so good! I added a quarter of avocado and maybe half a cup of frozen cauliflower to really thicken it up. I didn’t bother measuring the lime juice, just zested and juiced the entire lime. Please keep the lime recipes coming!!
Perfect! Glad you enjoyed!
This smoothie is delicious! So light and refreshing! I used half key lime Greek yogurt and half vanilla Greek yogurt to balance out the calories and sugar in the key lime one. For anyone wondering, I found that 2 TBS of lime juice was a little less than 1 lime. I didn’t measure the first time I made it, and I doubled the recipe, so I used 3 limes for juice and the zest of 3 limes
(I thought I wanted a strong flavor), Nope! It was so strong it was barely edible and affected my ability to taste food the rest of the day! So go with Monique’s lime quantity recommendations! Thank you for the recipe!
Oh man, sorry the flavor was overpowering the second time around!! But glad that you enjoyed the original. Listen to Rebecca, everyone 😂
This is my go-to green smoothie when I want something that is SUPER GREEN and feels healthy!!! I was really apprehensive about trying a lime smoothie, but this is actually so, so good and sneakily luxurious. I’ve used both plain greek yogurt and Chobani’s zero sugar key lime yogurt – Both work! The key lime yogurt definitely amps up the flavor, but I don’t think its necessary. I also have subbed almond milk.. I can’t tell the difference when using coconut milk honestly. I add frozen cauli to mine and also vanilla protein (I go lighter on the banana as a result). This is surely a staple!! I love topping with granola that has toasted coconut in it, also three wishes honey 🙂 THANK YOU!
Omg I’m SO happy you’re loving it, Kelsey!! Luxurious is totally the right word for this smoothie. Thanks so much for the sweet comment 🙂
Wow. This smoothie is truly fantastic! Creamy, sweet, and tart. Love!!
I definitely will do this again. Very tasty. I used 3 tablespoons of lemon lime and I will definitely go down to two.
Easy, delcicious, refreshing!! I just tried it for the first time.
I used Chobani vanilla Greek yogurt, Silk unsweet almond/coconut milk blend,
I added a generous 1/2 cup of spinach but you could not taste it at all, so I would gladly add more
next time.
It is definitely pretty tart and I ate some graham crackers with it which was a nice balance.
Next time I also will try adding vanilla protein powder.
Sounds delicious! Glad this recipe turned out great and you are enjoying it!
So I added unsweetened coconut (1/2 cup), and I used coconut whipped topping instead of whipped cream. It was amazing!! I would also like to point out, when freezing bananas, remove the peel first!! Maybe I’m stupid but I didn’t know this lol.
🤣 YES! Always remove the peel before freezing bananas. Glad you enjoyed this smoothie🙂
Delicious, Monique!! So creamy, tangy, and perfectly sweet. I was craving some spring flavors on this cold winter day and this hit the spot!
The perfect thing to brighten up winter! Glad you loved it!
So delicious!
Glad you enjoyed!
Great recipe – really tastes like Key Lime Pie! Will make this again.
I made this this morning. Delicious and refreshing! Thanks for a great recipe! It’s a keeper.
I forgot to say: I used Siggy’s coconut flavored yogurt (couldn’t find Key lime flavor). For the milk, I used unflavored, unsweetened oat milk. It was delicious!
Perfect! Glad you loved this one!
