If there was ever a dressing that was my favorite in the entire world, this curry tahini dressing is probably the one. It’s savory with plenty of umami flavor thanks to the tahini and earthy turmeric. It’s great in Thai inspired salads, drizzled over burgers, meatballs or for dipping in veggies or sweet potato fries.
My most favorite way to use this dressing is in my broccoli chickpea salad — a party pleaser and great for vegetarians who need a little boost of protein.
Ingredients in curry tahini dressing
This healthy curry tahini dressing is packed with flavor from delicious spices. Many curry dressing recipes use yogurt, but this one is perfectly creamy with just using tahini! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Tahini: the base of this amazing dressing that keeps it super creamy, vegan & dairy free.
- Lemon juice: a squeeze of fresh lemon juice adds the perfect amount of freshness.
- Water: to help thin the dressing.
- Garlic: gotta have the fresh garlic flavor. So good.
- Maple syrup: you’ll just need a teaspoon or two of maple syrup for a natural sweetness.
- Curry powder: the main spice we’re using that gives the dressing a wonderful curry flavor.
- Ginger: freshly grated ginger is the perfect pair with the rest of the spices.
- Turmeric: add a boost of antioxidants and gorgeous color with ground turmeric.
- Salt & pepper: to bring all of the flavors together.

Hi I am new to your site. So far very excited with your recipes. I have never heard of Tahini…Would you please explain to me what it is. Can it be purchased and where? I am so interested in the broccoli chickpea salad but don’t know what the 1/4C of tahini is
Thanks very much.
PS I am a retiree in Mexico so have no idea where I would find it here
Hi Cindi! Welcome to Ambitious Kitchen! Tahini is a paste made from sesame seeds (here is an example!) You can likely purchase it online, or ask at your local store 🙂
This dressing is amazing! I have been making it since you published it. I put it on everything 🙂

This might be my favorite dressing! So good when paired with turkey meatballs, or drizzled over roasted veggies and grains. I love it! Definitely easy to adjust to your preferences on how thick or thin you’d like your dressing!
Absolutely! So delicious 🙂
This dressing is SOOO good. I had it in chilled farro with arugula. I will make it all the time is!
Yum that sounds amazing! Glad you enjoyed!
Loooove this dressing!! I seriously put it on just about everything! Salad? Sure! Roasted veggies? Omg all day! Chicken or fish? Yup good on those too!! It’s simple to make and keeps well, though it doesn’t last long in my house!! I highly recommend this dressing!

There recipes are fresh and exciting
Thanks, Ron!
Too salty! Omit and then season to taste.
I personally find it just right but of course, you’re welcome to adjust the seasoning.
This is a wonderful recipe for curry inspired salads. I used it with a spring mix along with leftover roasted curried cauliflower, a fresh apple, raisins, and carrots. I found the 1/2 tsp salt to be way too much though. I recommend starting with a pinch or two and adding to taste. I omitted the maple syrup and it was yummy without any sweetener. I’ll definitely make again. Thank you for the recipe!
Thank you, Dina! Those additions sound fabulous. Good to know about the salt, and totally fine to reduce the amount!
Just tried this recipe today, and it’s delicious. Thank you!
absolutely! Glad you are loving this recipe!
